[ Garyawan cognized as Gazetted and Bank holidays as has been done in the case of Hindu, Mohomedan and Parsi Communities.
The abovesaid facts give us a potent proof to believe that such an institution though in its present limited capacity has been able to render good services to the Jains and is sure to do immense good to the Jain world if it be properly nurtured and its sphere of activity be greatly broadened.
Let us now see how this can be done. First the aims and objects of this body should be enlarged as they can be consistent with the possibility of the Association's being more useful and progressive. The following aims and objects can be suggest. ed as to rank with the present ones. (1) To open communications with Western Savants with
regard to our Sacred language and literature and to
give the same wide publicity. (2) To solicit co-operation of the men of literary capacity
from amongst ths Jains as well as others. (3) To invite all the Jain Graduates to write prize-essays
on Jain literature, history, philosophy, religion and social reform amongst the Jains so as to enlighten the
public on various points. (4) To have its own library containing all the standard
books, Scriptures, old Manuscripts and generally all
the publications concerning Jains and Jain religion. (5) To have its own organ in English or in Gujarati or
to make .Jain Conference Herald ' an organ of this institution and to advance the tone and gravity of the
magazine by taking all available means. (6) To enlist sympathisers and patrons from amongst our
wealthy brethren and thereby to feed the funds for the upkeep and sustenance of this organization. To organize the institution on firm footing with regard to its financial conditions so that its constitution can be placed on much higher level to make it efficient and ever-abiding and the said aims can be achieved with greater facility.
