________________ 1609 ] ધી જૈન ગ્રેજ્યુએટ એસોશિએશન , [૧૯૧ passed at the last Conference as regards the Treasure Trove Act & the introduction of the Jain Literature in the various Universities as well as the proposed scheme of granting bulding leases on Shri PARSHVANATHJI Hill afford great opportunities to our eductaed brethren tu move the proper authorities by Petitions and Memorials to get the reliefs prayed for and to have the grievances of our community redressed. There are a thousand and one ways iu which an educated brother can work for the welfare of our community and for the cause of the Conference. If he has a taste for history, let him collect the materials for the Jain Itihasa and remove the misconceptions which modern historians have about the Jains and Jainism, by placing before the world the true history of the Jains. If he is a student of antiquities, let him devote his whole life in travelling the vast fields of antiquities and put before the public the result of his researches. If he is a scholar of literature, let him taste the sweet nectar of our invaluable Shastras and other ancient works on various branches of learning and then publish the same in a critical tone of the West. If he is an engineer and has taste for architecture, let him visit (which is sure to reward him with salvation) our sacred Temples all over India, appreciate the beautiful works of art found everywhere and compare the Jain Style of architecture with other ancient and modern Styles of the East and the West. If he is a Doctor, let him preach crusade against vivisection and convince scientifically the non-vegetarians that vegetable kingdom is the natural diet of human race and animal food the unnatural one. If he is a lawyer, let him guard and defend the rights and privileges of the Community, including those which we have and which we enjoy from times immemorial as regards the various sacred Hills and places and keep a vigilant watch over any measure that may likely deprive the Community of their just claims and rights. Reader, if you have neither the means nor the ability to carry out any of the above-mentioned measures, then also, you can take some active part in the management of the Con. ference-Office and be a help to the Office and the Office-bearers. These are some of the ways by which an educated brother, can render immense service to the Community. There are many other ways and means to reach the same end, which he will find of
