બિચારાં! આશાનાં પંખિડાં ! ઉડતાં ગગનાંગણ ભણી કેવાં ! રૂપાના મહિ રાવણું માંહે ! હરે શું ? અમૃત મેવા હોંશ ધરી હૈયામાં અદકી, પ્રયાણ કરી રહ્યાં લેવા !-બિચારાં. ૧ અનિલ જંઝા વાત સરિખ ઘૂમતે ચોગમ રે ' વિકટ વાટ એમ કષ્ટ કારિણે ત્યાં ઉડવું કઈ પેરે?!-બિચારાં. ૨ તપે રવિ અતિ તિવ્ર રેષથી, ત્યાં દહી રહ્યું સહુ કંઇએ શ્રમિત બિચારાં પંખિડાં ! કયાં વિરામ શોધે તહીંએ ? બિચારાં. ૩ ભીતિ ના પૂરની સામે એ તરવુ દુસ્કર - કેવું ! આશાનાં માર્યો પામર એ કરતાં સાહસ એવુ !-બિચારાં. ૪ નથી સહાનુભૂતિ, નથી હાય, નથી પંથ શીવકારી ! ઉડવાનું એવા સંજોગે ! સમજીને ઈશ યારી !-બિચારાં. ૫ નશ્વર જગ પણ અમર આશ છે જરા ને શ્રદ્ધા ખૂટે ! ભગ્ન હૃદય ભલે થાય તેય પણ નવ પલ્લવ ફરી ફુટે-બિચારાં. ૬
