JAINA helps earthquake victims of Maharashtra, India. In the presence of over 40,000 people gathered under the banner of the Lions Club International, Bombay, India on February 26, 1994, the World Community Service Committee of JAINA presented the Lions Club with a check for more than 1.8 million rupees. The money will be used to build the Jain Nagar of fifty homes and a primary school in the village of Kawatha, which is 45 miles south of Latur and has been adopted by the Lions Club. The project is expected to be completed soon.
JAINA has launched a Rwandan Refugees Relief Fund to raise money to help victims of the cholera epidemic and starvation.

The Jain Community is very much distressed at seeing the thousands of desperate Rwandan refugees dying of hunger and cholera. JAINA has launched a Rwandan Refugee Relief Fund that will be used to save as many lives as possible and will be coordinated with Doctors Without Borders, the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities and similar organizations.
