NEWS Jain Meditation International Centre, Canada. President Mrs. Irena Upenieks delivered a talk entitled "Spiritual Transformation of Consciousness of a Lay Person" at the Parliament Of The World Religions held in Chicago II.
Jain Study Circle (NEW YORK) held its Quarterly Meeting on December 12, 993 at the residence of Naresh and Meena Shah in Garden City Park, New York. The topic of discussion at this meeting was RITUALS-WHY DO THEM AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN TO ME? JSC is contemplating to publish "Studies in Jainism Reader Il" as one of its future projects.
S.S.Jain Foundation of Canada serves vegetarian meals freshly prepared on premises every Saturday to all Canadians without charge to promote Jain values of ahimsa(non-violence) and dan(sharing). The foundation collects funds on behalf of JAINA in Canada for JAINA's various activities.

Annual FAMILY CAMP, July 10-16 4. PRATISHTHA ANNIVERSARY, August 21 5. PARYUSHAN PARV, September 2-9 DUS LAKSHAN PARVA, September 9-18 SAMVATSARI, September 9 6. DAY OF UNIVERSAL FORGIVENESS and DAY OF NONVIOLENCE, October 2. This would be a joint event by all JAIN CENTERS of N.Y., N.J., C.T., P.A. ETC. For the past two years this is being celebrated as an Annual event at SIDDHACHALAM.
Jain Social Group (Los Angeles) will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and has elected a new committee which includes Mahipal Shah, President; Pradip Shah, Vice President; Dhiren Mehta, Secretary; Ramesh Parikh, Treasurer; and Harshida Vasa, Public Relations. The Social Group arranges various programs during the year including a medical camp, which is organized in coordination with the Jain Center.
The Jain Social Group of Toronto, a very active organisation under the direction of Dr.Atul Tolia arranges between 6-8 functions each year to promote friendship and social interaction amongst the members. The executive of JSG organized a successful stage production in conjuction with another Indian organisation in Toronto,SANGHMITRA, a daughter's guide to the path of Buddha for her father Emperor Ashoka. The event was a total success.

Brahmi Society, published a special commemorative issue of Jinmanjari on Gommata Mahamastakabhiseka.
International Mahavir Jain Mission, Canada under the direction of Dr.Harish Jain and his executive organised a very successful Jain summer camp at Niagara Falls, On. IMJM is also very active in promoting Jain teachings by organizing annual lectures at University of Toronto.
