88 : Śramaņa, Vol 62, No. 4, Oct.-Dec. 2011 Bharata enjoyed a specially favoured position in Deogarh (U.P.) where five sculptures of his image were found. Thus, conecpt of aparigraha, as found in Jaina texts, came to evolve further and got transformed in the visual renderings of the Jina, Bāhubali and Bharata Muni. The complete silence of the sculptures speak of aparigraha in a profoundly inspiring way, not only to the names of those ancient times but also to us today.
