(8th Pariccheda) An introduction
In 7th Pariccheda we have seen that after receiving good wishes from Chitravega, Chitragati started for Suranandana city with Priyangumañjarī. In the way he met to a Deva who disappeared after giving him a powerful Jewel (Maội) to safe him from Nabhovāhana Vidyādhara.
8th Chapter follows:
When Chitragati, with her beloved, was going to Surnandana city, in the way Priyangumañjarī felt that Nabhovāhana Vidyādhara was chasing them and she started trembling. Chitravega suggested her not to be afraid of as what is to be happened will happen. Priyangumañjarī told Chitragati that only she is responsible for all these problems we are facing. Chitragati tried her to understand that it is all because of we did not follow the ethical commandments. He continued, 'I have also disobeyed the rules when I kidnapped you. Therefore, when the time is not favourable, one should not feel hurt. Our enemy is strong than us, we can overcome him only by the result of noble deeds done in previous birth.
Then Nabhovāhana appeared there and threatened Chitragati that as he has kidnapped his wife, no one can save him. Nabhovāhana challenged him for war and being angry released an arrow upon him by his bow to ensure his death. But the arrow returned back to him. The Vidyadhara was surprised to see it. But he again released few more arrows consecrated by Mantras. Those arrows too got returned to the master due to impact of that Maņi. Then he bound me with snakes. Due to being bound with snakes, feeling severe pain in my body, I fell down to earth from sky. Pryangumañjari was became very sad seeing all these. Nabhovāhana took her way with him.
Chitravega told Supratiştha that with the impact of the water of Maņi made available by you, I got released. The Maņi was so powerful that even the snakes could not harm me. But finally I realised that love and affections are the reasons of this world cycle. One is happy till he is not trapped in love. Every one has to realise the fruition of his
