vijaya & others, is an etymological dictionary, dealing with terms occurred in Abhidhānacintāmaņi of Hemacandra. The lexicon contains the words in alphabetical order (Devanagari). The compiler has denoted the gender of the word, its Gujrati meaning as well as its synonyms given in the original text with its etymology, as given in the auto- comm. of Abhidhānacintāmaņi. The Koşa is very valuable for comprehending the gender, meaning, synonym and etymology of Sanskrit words. The arrangement of the word herein is in alphabetical order. Pub. sūri, is an unique dictionary dealing with approximately 60,000 words selected from about 97 standard works pertaining to Jaina canonical literature and their commentaries: Niryukti, Bhāsya, Cūrņi and Sanskrit Vstti. It brings out the roots, the derivations and meanings of all the selected proper names and technical words found in Jaina Siddhānta and literature, occurring in the abovereferred texts. To quote one instance of the interpretation and elucidation of the word Ahinsă, the comm. has occupied 12 pages and clearly brought out all that pertains to this word in different ways and in all its aspects. The greatness of this work may be deducted from the fact that words, commencing with the letter A have occupied 893 pages. The Lexicon contains also the biography of the renowned compiler that is of Rajendrasūri and an exhaustive and scholarly introduction, which presents an outline of the grammar of the Prakrit language and a glossary of Prakrit words & phrases. However, it's mammoth size and lengthy extracts, without their translation have made this Kośa incomprehensible for scholars. Vijaya Rajendrasūri wrote a number of works: Upadeśa Ratnasāra, Sarvasangraha Prakarana, Prākstavyākaraņa-Vivști, Sabda Kaumudi, Rājendra Suryodaya, etc. Pub.
