________________ १५७ understood as an enemy and the enemy is the seventh son of Devaki, who is called Vāśudeva, the greatest powerful man in the world. Śrikrşņa killed all the four ones.43 The Uttarapurāņa (pp. 427-28) mentions here the name of Aristadeva who apeared as a Bull. Śrimad-Bhagawat does not refer to khara but Dhenukāsura occurs his place.44 Śrīkrsna got the impression from Baladeva that he was a son of Vāsudeva-Devaki. He then decided to kill Kamsa. In the mean time, Krşņa killed Kāliyanāga in the Yamunā river, according to the Trişasti (8.5.262-65). The Harivaṁsapurāņa and Uttarapurāņa nerrate an other story in this regard. Accordingly, Krşņa got the Kamal after killing Kāliyanāga, the protector of the Kamal.45 According to Srimad Bhagawat, Śrīkrsna mad the Yamunawater purified and saved it from the clutches of Kālīyanāga. 46 Kaṁsa then arranged the wrestling with Cāņūra and Mustika. At the outset, Krsna and Balarāma killed first the Padmottara and campaka eliphants and then these wrestlers. Srimad Bhāgawat refers to only one eliphant named Kuvalayāpidha. The Trişasti mentions that Srikrsna becomes unconscious during the fighting with cāņura (8.5.28495) but Harivamsapurāņa does not mention so. Śrīkņşņa then killed Kaṁsa by keeping a leg on his head. 47 Harivaṁsapurāṇa and uttarapurāņa differ slightly here. Accordingly Kaṁsa attacked Krsna but failed. Samudra-vijaya and others overjoyed and freed ugrasena from Jail. 18. Jarāsandha became enemy of Srikęsna and Balarāma. He ordered Samudra-vijaya to handover Srikrsna and Balarama to him. Samudra-vijaya discussed the matter with Nimittajña (Craustuki) and went on towards west core along with Yadavas. Kālakumāra, the son of Jarāsandha attacked on Yādavas who were protected by Devas of Śrikssņa. Kālakumāra died in the fort. Then Śrikrşņa became a king of New Dwārikā near Revataka Giri in Saurāśtra. 48 19. Śrikrşņa married with Rukmaņi and killed Śišupāla.
