________________ There is another inscription 15 mentioning the dedication at the, request of Sāditā, female pupil of.. .. .. dhuka, a preacher in the Vārana gana and Nädika kula. The name of the Sākhā is mutilated. The last kula of this gana is mentioned in another inscription, 16 The name is Ayyabhyista kula, the Sākhā is Samkāsiyā and the Sambhoga is Sirigriha (Srigriha). The inscription is dated in the year 50. Ayya-Jinadasi (Arya-Jinadāsī) the female pupil of Samadi... is mentioned as the teacher. Besides these important inscription there are a number of other records repeating the same kulas and sākhās Vārana gana. A perusal of the above records would show that the Vāraṇa gana was divided into a number of kulas with their corresponding Sākhās or branches and Sambhogas i.e. divisions. On the basis of these records a table may be shown. Vāraņa Gana 1. Puśyamitriya 2. Ārya-chetiya kula 2. Harītamālakadhi Sākhā 3. Petivāmika kula 4. Kaniyasika kula 4. Od... Sākhā 5. Aya-Hāttiya 5. Vajanāgarī säkhā 6. Nādika kula 7. Ayyabhyista 7. Samkāsiyā Now according to the Kalpa Sūtra,17 the Cāraņa gana which is evidently identical with the Vāraña gana was divided into four Sākhās and seven kulas. The kulas were Vätsalīya (Pr. Vakkhalija), 2. Prītidharmika, 3. Hāridraka (Pr. Halijja), 4. Pushyamitrika, 5. Mālayaka (Pr. Mālijja) 6. Ārya-chedaya and 7. Kaņhasaha. The four sākhās mentioned are Samkāśika, Vajjanāgari, Gavedhukā and Hāriyamālāgārī. If we compare the list of kulas mentioned in the inscription with the list of Sthāviras preserved in the Kalpa Sūtra, we would find that the Puşyamitriīya can beidentified with the Pushyamitrika (Puşamitijja), ĀryaChețaya with Āryya-cedaya, Kaņiyasīka with Kanhasaha, Petivāmika with Prīdharmika and Aya-Hattiya with Hāridraka as the sākhās of both namely Vajanāgarī and Vajjanāgarī are identical. The only two kulas left to be identified are Ayyabhyista kula and the Nādika kula. The Sākhā of the Ayyabhista kula is Samkāsiyā while the name of the śākhā associated with Nādika kula is mutilated. Now in the list of the Kalpa Sūtra, Samkāsikā is 104 để lại di 125-126 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
