________________ Hero as Saint -Miss Veena Jain A person is admired either by dint of the material things at his command or the strong moral character which constitutes the backbone of his internal advancement and which has heroic qualities. Heroes are of many kinds. A hero can be a poet, a writer, a politician, a king or a man of letters, but the real hero of heroes is a saint. The combination of the qualities of hero and a Saint in one person is very rare but we see this rare Combination in Yuvācharya Shri Mahāprajña of the Terāpantha religious order. The qualities of a hero are manifold. The first is that his mind is an open book. He has nothing to hide under. This cannot be achieved unless he has a deep insight into reality. We see this quality in Yuvāchārya Shri. Being a saint and a hero he is really endowed with superior insight. He has searched as well as experienced the truths of life. He is an aspirant of spiritual nobilities. Whatever he has experienced is known to everybody The second quality of a hero is that he is deeply earnest. A deep, great and genuine sincerity is the characteristic of a hero. Yuvāchārya Shri Maháprajña is deeply sincere to himself and to the eternal truths of life. He is very much devoted to Terāpantha Sect and to Acharya Shri Tulsi. With his quality of dedication and devotion he has able to go deep into the rate of meditation through Prekshā-Dhyāna. He reveals to us what we should to do in order to lead a perfect life. His sincerity, faithfulness and perseverance to attain the cherished goal is a source of inspiration for everybody. Time is gone when people bowed before other human beings, taking them as personification of God. To-day if someone bows before Achārya Shri Tulsī or Yuvāchārya Shri and pays obeisance, it is not because they are treated as personification of God but because they possess these qualities of a hero. And hero is always worshipped. Another quality is that a hero has true valour and courage in his soul. Lincoln, Napoleon, King Ashoka and others were true heroes because they were conquerors, victorious and mighty. These qualities Vol. IV, Nos. 7-8 111
