Some Reflections on the Commentaries af Paesikahāṇayaṁ
But these explanations are not suitable. The word actually signifies
कर signifies the = to move. It is motion', एरिज्जमाणे
'green foliage moving to and fro', fra means green. branches of trees. "f' has its genesis in comparable with Pali 'एरेति' which means to set in therefore means 'moving'. V also means 'to shake'. is described to be looking beautiful not because of its green vegetation merely but due to the green branches of trees moving to and fro in a gentle breeze. Thus in the said description the forest has been personified and said to be expressing its joy by dwinging its branches.

to rub. It therefore means 'is rubbed and thrashed.' The commentators interpret this word in the sense of 'separation from the husks'. 27 This may be the outcome of 'मुणिज्जइ' but it cannot be identified with the activity denoted by the word in question.
