________________ 39991 yraf 15-16 61 “सत्तमउ तुहारउ रणे खयगारउ, महुराहिव-मगहाहिवहं! Afs-fuifE TUIGETE GETUIGETE ETHş ufers OperaE!!"22 i.e. ""Sattamau tuharau rane khaygarau mahurahiv-magahahivaham. Mahi-nini-rayandadhaham, pattnibandham Tosai pathiu pathavahom." ""O Devaki! Your "seventh' (son) would kill the king of Mathura (Kansa) and Magadh (Jarasandh)". Though, Jain-poets have made so many changes in the traditional story of Krishna from "Mahabharat' and from different "Puranas' of Hindus, but the original source of the story is Mahabharat. Dr. Vishnu S. Sukathankar speaks as- ""These are really speaking, narratives covered by the Mahabharat of Hindus."23 Here, I would like to mention that inspite of their differences with the Hindus and Hindu-mythology, the Jain poets accepted the "Hindu' Names, as well as, most of the episodes of "Mahabharat' in their original form. For example, Swayambhu Dev calls "Krishna' as 'जगद्दणु' (Janardan), 'नारायणु' (Narayana). 'हरि'(Hari) 'गोविंदु' (Govinda), 'विण्हु' (Vishnu), 'वासुएव' (Vasudev), 'उविंद' (Upendra), 'माहव' (Mahava), ATTEST' (Madhusudan). This shows their knowledge of "Mahabharat' and also respect towards Hindu-mythology. Most of the Jain poets wrote in Apbhramas language, which was the language of Hindus, Bodhas, Muslims and Jains. The Jain-religious books have been written in Prakrit- Apbhramsa, which inc different Puranas, charitas, strotas, Aakhayans, Kathas to popularize Jainism by Digamber Jain poets.24 Adi Mahakavi of Apbhramsa: Swayambhu Dev Mahakavi Swayambhu Dev is regarded as "the Adi Mahakavi of Apbhramsa' as Mahakavi Valmiki is regarded ""Adikavi of the world". Though Swayambhu Dev was Jain, but he was not a "fanatic' poet to follow his religion blindly. This is why, he shows great regards to Hindu-religion and Hindu-Gods too. He owes to Goddess "Saraswati', the highest goddess of learing as well as to Hindu scholars as under:
