________________ 379491 R 15-16 59 (1) Shri Bhushan, (2) Shubh Chandra, (3) Vadichandra, (4) Jayanand, (5) Vijayagani, (6) Dev-Vijay, (7) Devprabh, (8) Dev Bhadra and (9) Shubh-Vardhan alos wrote epic-poems named "Pandava Purana' in Sanskrit. Some other viz Sooracharya, Udaiprabha, Kirtiraj, Gunvijay, Hem Chandra, Bhoj Sagar, Tilakacharya, Vikaram Narsingh, Harisen and Nemidatta wrote books named "Neminath Charita', also in Sanskrit, depicting the character of Krishna in one or the other way, alongwith Tirthankar Neminath. Jain poets who wrote their epic poems in Prakrit are (1) Ratnaprabh, (2) Guna Vallabh and (3) Guna Sagar. And lastly, the Jain poets; who wrote Jain-Krishna-Katha in Apbhramsa are (1) Mahakavi Swayambhu Dev, (2) Dhawal, (3) Yash-Kirti, (4) Shurta-kirti, (5) Hari Bhadra and (6) Rayeedhu. This clearly goes to establish the popularity and acceptability of Hindu-Krishna-Katha amongst Jains. Apart from this, Mahakavi Jinasen, Gunabhadra, Hem Chandra and Pushpadant are the renowned Jain poets, who have made the "Krishna-Katha' from the Mahabharat, a part of their epic, called ""Mahapuranas", composed in Sanskrit, Prakrit and Apbhramsa. Still, numerous manuscripts, entitled "Harivansha Puuana', "Aristanemi Charit' or "Nemi Charit', "Pandava Purana' and "Pandava Charit' are there in the old treasure of temples and museums throughout India, which need a special and immediate attention of Researchers in India and abroad. Jain Poets and Hindu Krishna-Katha It is notable that the Jain-poets, though accepted the "KrishnaKatha' from the "Mahabharata' and the other "Puranas' such as "Bhagwat Purana' and "Vishnu Purana', made some very vital and important changes in the traditional story and also in the characters. I would like to mention some very very vital changes, that have altered the basic colour and concept of Jain "Krishna-Katha'.
