Dear Sir,
I hereby beg to resign the membership of your Sangh with of fact from today. I resign as I feel that my convictions and views in general, and particularly in so far as they refer to social customs and to the interpretation of the tenets of religion - I use the word
Religion' in the widest sense - have since 1910 been, and may continue to be, a source of irritation to certain sections of the Sangh. This I am anxious to avoid, which I do hope I may succeed in doing by my remaining outside the Sangh.
