Pali 314 (591426) 'young of an animal'. It is I think derived from Sk शाव. Hemacandra has noted Pk. छाव <Sk. शाव, Pk.छमी <Sk. 37-. For other cases of Sk. 37->. -. see Pischel, para 211. But Turner says relationship between 19 and 2014 is unclear.
(Turner, 5026) Inspite of the phonological problem I find it difficult to regard the element so in Etch, DTE, ETTER (Turner, 5069, 5070) as unrelated to 3119. Tek possibly derives from an expressive/ emphatic form < 10€* <3119€ <311272. (Ele purhaps originated from ser cancel > Guj. Estehe; Cf. fe ca de HERSÉ ,). Cf. Ap. डिक्करूव' male child' Accordingly I think छो० in छोट्ट (>#sta etc.; Turner, 5071) is the same as to derived from 2119 (> 519.). It is extended with 030 with Sk. 4 (with the meaning -shade of SFTTT) and its instanecs see.my Vagvyaparcin Gujarati, 1954, p. 229-231. (For the stem-enlarging, diminutine, -- see Bhayani, etsteh Alcheut faer, 3rd edition, p. 114-120). (Instances of Guj. nouns aka, FIH, THÀ; adjectives in M. art, free, dieT).
