SHREYAS : LORD MAHĀVĪRA ON PRAMADA
27 essential bodily functions are hindrances in the path of spiritual advancement, and, therefore, pramāda ought not to be indulged even for a samaya or the millionth part of a second. The words of the Lord, "Samayam Goyama! mā pamāyae" have been echoing through the ages, and have been exhorting the sādhakas, through these more than two thousand five hundred years. to this day. The exhortation, though addressed to Ganadhara Gautama, is aimed at each and every individual, who has his sights set on spiritual salvation or Nirvāņa.
So, Samayam Sādhakam mā pamāyae it is, for anyone who will hear and heed.
