here is that Sutra is so called because it conforms to the definition of Sutra as set forth in the verse अल्पाक्षरम् etc. and as can be illustrated by or verified from verse 8, सौक्ष्म्यात्तदनुपपत्तिः (-लब्धि : ) etc.
उपलभ्योत्तरगुण
This obscure bit refers to what has been विशेषसंपदं च said before in line two, viz. the student
This should be in genetive, for it goes with—वर्षगणप्रभृतीनामन्यतमस्य शेषभूतं स्यात् ।

' इत्येवमादिना वचन - May be read as ' इत्येवमादिना वचनेन प्रतिप्रतिपाद्योऽयमर्थः ' पाथोऽयमर्थः ।
महद्भिश्वोक्तः
possessing further requisite endowments, viz. Matimattva, Mimāmsakatva, Arthitva and Abhyupagatatva.
Lines 9-10
अभ्युपगम्यते,
End the sentence with अभ्युपगम्यते ।

न गुणानाम् Start the next paksa न गुणानाम् etc.
The sentence may be ended here and a danda may be inserted to show the end.
From अथापि स्यात् upto भविष्यति in line 24 it is an amplification of the paksa " अभिघातस्येति चेत् " ।
" जिज्ञासापघातेन
Read जिस सापघाते न किंचित् etc. After किंचित् प्रयोजनमस्तीति प्रयोजनमस्ति remove danda and put
comma.
The word at the beginning of the Kārikā is no part of it; it should be taken with तथा चोक्तम् ।
