VIVEKACHUDAMANI
has her Gunas known as Rajas, Tamas and Sattva, named after their respective functions.
III. Rajas has its Vikshepa-Shaktil or projecting power which is of the nature of an activity, and from which this primeval flow of activity has emanated. From this also, the mental modifications such as attachment and the rest and grief and the like are continually produced.
[1 Vikshepa-Shakti—that power which at once projects a new form when once the real nature of a thing has been veiled by the Avarana-Shakti, mentioned later in Sloka II3.
2 Primeval flow &c. i.e., the phenomenal world, alternately evolving and going back into an involved state. Cf. Gita XV. 4.]
