६०. प्रश्न : ज्योतिष्क देवों के और राहु, केतु के विमानों का
स्वरूप कैसा है एवं उनकी किरणें कितनी-कितनी हैं ? उत्तर : जिस प्रकार एक गोले के दो खण्ड करके उन्हें ऊर्ध्वमुख रखा जावे तो चौड़ाई का भाग ऊपर और गोलाई वाला संकरा भाग नीचे रहता है, उसी प्रकार ऊर्ध्वमुख अर्धगोले के सदृश ज्योतिषी देवों के विमान स्थित हैं। विमानों का मात्र नीचे का गोलाकार भाग ही हमारे द्वारा दृश्यमान है ज्योतिषी देवों के विमान पृथ्वीकायिक होते हैं।
राहु का विमान चन्द्रविमान के नीचे और केतु का विमान सूर्य विमान को नीचे गमन करता है। प्रत्येक छह माह बाद पर्व के अन्त में अर्थात् पूर्णिमा और अमावस्या के अन्त में राहु चन्द्रमा को और केतु सूर्य को आच्छादित करता है, इसी का नाम ग्रहण है। चन्द्रमा की किरणें बारह हजार प्रमाण हैं और शीतल हैं। सूर्य की किरणें भी बारह हजार हैं, किन्तु वे तीक्ष्ण (उष्ण) हैं। शुक्र की किरणे अढ़ाई हजार हैं वे तीव्र अर्थात् प्रकाश से उज्ज्वल हैं। शेष ज्योतिषी देवों की किरणें मन्द प्रकाश वाली हैं।
