६५. देव- दुर्गतियों में उत्पत्ति के क्या कारण हैं ?
उत्तर : समाधिमरण के विराधित करने पर कितने ही जीव कन्दर्प, किल्विष, आभियोग्य और सम्मोह आदि देव - दुर्गतियों में उत्पन्न होते हैं ।
जो सत्य वचन से रहित हैं, बहुजन में हँसी करते हैं और जिनका हृदय कामासक्त रहता है, वे निश्चय से कन्दर्प देवों में उत्पन्न होते हैं
जो भूतिकम, मन्त्राभियोग और कौतूहलादि से संयुक्त हैं तथा लोगों की वंचना करने में प्रवृत्त रहते हैं, वे वाहनदेवों में उत्पन्न होते हैं।
तीर्थंकर, संघ- प्रतिमा एवं आगम ग्रन्थादिक के विषय में प्रतिकूल, दुर्विनयी तथा प्रलाप करने वाले जीव किल्विषक देवों में उत्पन्न होते हैं।
कुमार्ग का उपदेश करने वाले, जिनेन्द्रोपदिष्ट मार्ग के विरोधी और मोह से मुग्ध जीव सम्मोह जाति के देवों में उत्पन्न होते हैं।
