अनादिकाल से संसार का प्रत्येक प्राणी अति दृढ़ कर्म श्रृंखलाओं के बन्धन से बद्ध है। चैतन्यमयी आत्मा के साथ कमों का यह सम्बन्ध क्यों, कैसे, किसके द्वारा, कितना और किस प्रकार का है ? यह सब जानने के तथा इनसेटने बाव, का उच1 ए पुरुषार्थ जीक ने आज तक नहीं किया। करुणावन्त आचार्य नेमिचन्द्र ने इन सब प्रश्नों का सरलता से बोध कराने हेतु षखण्डागम से कर्मकाण्ड ग्रन्थ का अवतरण किया। प्राकृत एवं संस्कृत भाषा की जटिलता दूर करने हेतु महामना पं. टोडरमल जी ने इस ग्रन्थ की टीका आदि का ढूंढारी भाषा में रूपान्तर किया। विषय को और स्पष्ट करने हेतु विदुषी आर्यिका १०५ श्री आदिमती माताजी ने इस पर अपनी लेखनी उठाई, जिसका सम्पादन करणानुयोग के मर्मज्ञ विद्वान स्व. पं. रतनचन्दजी मुख्तार सहारनपुर वालों ने किया।
जैन जगत् के मनीषी विद्वान पं. पन्नालाल जी साहित्याचार्य ने उपर्युक्त प्रश्नों को सरलतापूर्वक समझने हेतु ३०० प्रश्नोत्तरों द्वारा ग्रन्थ के छार्द को समाज के समक्ष रखकर सराहनीय कार्य किया है। आशा है आत्म हितैषी भव्य जीव इस अनुपम कृति का सदुपयोग कर कर्मों से छूटने का सत् प्रयास करेंगे, यही मेरी मंगल भावना है।

No one has ever been able to fully understand and break free from these bonds.
