आकार आदि कैसा है ? उत्तर : लवणसमुद्र के भीतर चार दिशाओं में चारद्वीप-चार विदिशाओं में चार द्वीप और आठ अन्तर दिशाओं में आठ द्वीप, हिमवान् कुलाचल, भरत संबंधी विजयार्थ, शिखरी कुलाचल और ऐरावत सम्बन्धी विजया इन चारों पर्वतों के दोनों अन्तिम भागों के निकट एक एक अर्थात् आठ द्वीप हैं। इस प्रकार लवण समुद्र के अभ्यन्तर तट के कुल द्वीपों की संख्या (४+४+८+८) = २४ है। इसके वाह्य तर पर भी २४ द्वीप हैं, अतः लवण समुद्र संबंधी ४८ द्वीप हुए। इसी प्रकार कालोदक समुद्र के दोनों तटों के ४८ द्वीप हैं। इन ६६ द्वीपों में कुभोगभूमि की रचना है। वहाँ के मनुष्यों की आकृतियाँ विभिन्न प्रकार की होती हैं। कोई मनुष्य एक टांग वाले, कोई पूँछ वाले, कोई लम्बे कान वाले, किन्हीं
