भी आयु का बन्ध नहीं किया है वह तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बन्ध कर सकता है। तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बन्ध करने वाला मनुष्य था तो उसी भाव से मोक्ष जाता है या तृतीय भव में। उसका द्वितीय भव नरक या देवगति में व्यतीत होता है। तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बन्ध करने वाला सम्यग्दृष्टि मनुष्य यदि नरक जायेगा तो प्रथम नरक तक ही जावेगा। यद्यपि द्वितीय और तृतीय नरक से निकलकर भी तीर्थंकर हो सकते हैं परन्तु वहाँ उत्पन्न होने वाले मनुष्य मृत्यु के समय मिथ्यादृष्टि हो जाते हैं और जब तक मिध्यादृष्टि रहते हैं तब तक तीर्थंकर प्रकृति के प्रदेशों का आस्रव बन्द रहता है। सम्यग्दर्शन प्राप्त करने पर पुनः चालू हो जाता है। तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का ऐसा स्वभाव है कि प्रारंभ होने पर उसका आस्रव निरन्तर होता रहता है।
