१६. प्रश्न : अभव्य किसे कहते हैं ?
उत्तर : जिसमें सम्यग्दर्शनादि प्राप्त करने की योग्यता न हो उसे अभव्य कहते हैं। जिस प्रकार बिना सीझने वाली मूंग, आग और पानी का निमित्त मिलने पर भी नहीं सीझती है उसी प्रकार अभव्य जीव, निर्मित मिलने पर भी रत्नत्रय को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकते।

प्रश्न: कर्म के कितने भेद हैं ?
उत्तर : मूल में द्रव्यकर्म और भावकर्म के भेद से कर्म दो प्रकार के होते हैं। कर्मरूप परिणत पुद्गल द्रव्य का जो पिण्ड है उसे द्रव्यकर्म कहते हैं तथा उसकी शक्ति को भावकर्म कहते हैं। द्रव्यकर्म की उदयावस्था का निमित्त पाकर जीव में जो रागद्वेष रूप परिणति होती है उसे भी भावकर्म कहते हैं । द्रव्यकर्म के घाति और अघाति के भेद से दो भेद होते हैं।
