तेरह गुणस्थान होते हैं। लेश्यारहित जीव के एक चौदहवाँ गुणस्थान ही होता है। भव्यत्वमार्गणा की अपेक्षा भव्य जीव के सभी गणस्थान होते हैं और अभव्य जीव के एक मिथ्यात्व गुणस्थान ही होता है। सम्यक्त्वमार्गणा की अपेक्षा प्रथमोपशम सम्यक्त्व तथा क्षयोपशम सम्यक्त्व में चतुर्थ से सप्तम् तक चार गुणस्थान, द्वितीयोपशम सम्यक्त्व में चतुर्थ से ग्यारहवें तक आठ गुणस्थान और क्षायिक सम्यक्त्व में चतुर्थ से चौदहवें तक ग्यारह गुणस्थान होते हैं। क्षायिक सम्यक्त्व गुणस्थानातीत सिद्ध परमेष्ठी के भी होता है। संजीमार्गणा की अपेक्षा संज्ञी जीवों में प्रारम्भ के बारह गुणस्थान, असंज्ञी जीवों में एक मिथ्यात्व गुणस्थान और संज्ञी-असंज्ञी के व्यवहार से रहित केवली के अन्त के दो गुणस्थान होते हैं।
१, इतनी विशेषता है कि अनेक आचार्यों ने असंजी जीवों में भी नित्यपर्याप्त अवस्था में सासादन गुणस्थान माना है। इस प्रकार उन्होंने असंझी जीवों में दो गुणस्थान माने हैं। गो.क. ११३, पंचसंग्रह पृ. ७५ (अमितगति आचार्य) आदि। इस प्रकार असंज्ञी जीदों में सासादन गुणस्थान के सदभाव के विषय में दो मत पाये जाते हैं।
