संहनन का सातवें गुणस्थान के अन्तिम समय में उदयविच्छेद हो जाता है । इसलिए सातवें गुणस्थान की उदययोग्य ७६ प्रकृतियों में उक्त चार प्रकृतियों को कम करने मे आठवें गुणस्थान में ७२ प्रकृतियों का उदय होता है ।
गुणस्थाना के बढ़ते क्रम के साथ आत्मा के परिणामों को विशुद्धता बढ़ती जाती है । अतः नौवें गुणस्थान से लेकर आगे के गुणस्थानों में संक्लिष्ट परिणाम रूप ( काषायिक) प्रकृतियों का उदय होना भी न्यून से न्यूनतर होता जाता है। इसलिए आठवें गुणस्थान में उदययोग्य ७२ प्रकृतियों में से हास्यादिषट्क- हास्य, रति, अरति, शोक, भय, जुगुप्सा इन छह प्रकृतियों का आठवें गुणस्थान के चरम समय में उदयविच्छेद हो जाने से नौवें गुणस्थान में सिर्फ ६६ प्रकृतियों का हो उदय होता है । यद्यपि ६६ प्रकृतियों का उदय नौवें गुणस्थान के प्रारम्भ में होता है लेकिन परिणामों की विशुद्धि क्रमशः बढ़ती ही जाती है, जिससे वेदत्रिक- स्त्रीवेद, पुरुषवेद और नपुंसकवेद तथा संज्वलनकषायनिक – संज्वलन क्रोध, मान और माया कुल छह प्रकृतियों का उदय नौवें गुणस्थान में ही क्रमशः रुक जाता है । अतः १. तुलना करो
अपमत्ते सम्मतं अंतिमतिय संहृदी । -- गोम्मटसार, कर्मकाण्ड, २६८ २. नौवें गुणस्थान में वेवत्रिक आदि छह प्रकृतियों के उदयविच्छेद का क्रम इस प्रकार हैं- यदि श्रेणी का प्रारम्भ स्त्री करती है तो वह पहले स्त्रीवेद का, अनन्तर पुरुषवेद का और उसके बाद नपुंसकवेद का उदयविच्छेद करती है । अनन्तर क्रमशः संज्वलनत्रिक के उदय को रोकती है। यदि श्रेणी प्रारम्भ करने वाला पुरुष है तो वह सर्वप्रथम पुरुषवेद, पोछे स्त्रीवेद और उसके बाद नपुंसकवेद का विच्छेद करके क्रमशः संज्वलनत्रिक का उदय रोकता है और ोणी को करने वाला यदि नपुंसक है तो पहूले नपुंमकवेद का उदय रोककर उसके बाद स्त्रीवेद के उदय को, तत्पश्चात् पुरुषवेद को रोककर क्रमश: संज्वलनत्रिक के उदय को रोकता है।
