की संख्या अधिक और किन्हीं में कम होती है । इस प्रकार भिन्न-भिन्न परमाणु संख्याओंयुक्त कर्मदलों का आत्मा के साथ सम्बन्ध होना प्रदेशबन्ध कहलाता है।
जीव संख्यात, असंख्यात या अनन्त परमाणुओं से बने कर्मस्कन्धों को ग्रहण नहीं करता, किन्तु अनन्तानन्त (अभन्यों मे अनन्तगुणे और सिद्धों के अनन्तवें भाग प्रमाण परमाणुओं) से बने हुए कर्मस्कन्धों को ग्रहण करता है।
उक्त चार प्रकार के कर्मबन्धों में से प्रकृतिबन्ध ओर प्रदेशबन्ध का बन्ध योग में एवं स्थितिबन्ध और अनुभागबन्ध का बन्ध कषाय से होता है। __ कर्म के भेदों का कथन करने के अनन्तर कर्मों की मूल एवं उत्तर-, प्रकृतियों की परिभाषा और संख्या बताते हैं।
मूलप्रकृति - कर्मों के मुख्य भेदों को मूलप्रकृति कहते हैं ।
उत्तरप्रकृति-कर्मों के मुख्य भेदों के अवान्तर भेदों को उत्तरप्रकृति कहते हैं।
कर्म की मुलप्रकृतियों के आठ और उत्तरप्रकृतियों के एकसौ अछावन भेद होते हैं । उनके नाम और संख्या आदि के निरूपण आगे की गाथा में किया जायगा । मूलप्रकृतियों के नाम और उत्तरप्रकृतियों की संख्या :
