आदर करते हैं । यशः कीर्ति नामकर्म के उदय से यश और
कीर्ति होती है और पूर्व में कही गई सदशक की प्रकृतियों से विपरीत स्थावरदशक की प्रकृतियों का अर्थ समझना चाहिए ।

विशेषार्थ सदशक की सात प्रकृतियों के स्वरूप पहले दो गथाओं में कहे जा चुके हैं और शेष रही तीन प्रकृतियों - सुस्वर, आदेय और यशः कीर्ति के लक्षण तथा स्थावरदशक की दस प्रकृतियों के लक्षण जानने के लिए सदशक की दस प्रकृतियों से विपरीत समझने का संकेत इस गाथा में किया है। विशेष विवेचन क्रमशः नीचे लिखे अनुसार है -
(१) जिस कर्म के उदय से जीव का स्वर श्रोता को प्रिय लगता है, उसे सुस्वरनामकर्म कहते हैं; जैसे- कोयल आदि का स्वर ।
(२) जिस कर्म के उदय से जीव का वचन सर्वमान्य हो, उसे आदेयनामकर्म कहते हैं ।
(३) जिस कर्म के उदय से जीव की संसार में यश और कीर्ति फैले, उसे यशः कीर्तिनामकर्म कहते हैं ।
यशः कीर्ति यह पद, यश और कीर्ति दो शब्दों से निष्पन्न है । उसमें किसी एक दिशा में प्रशंसा फैले उसे कीर्ति और सब दिशाओं में प्रशंसा हो, उसे यश कहते हैं अथवा दान, तप आदि से जो प्रसिद्धि होती है, उसे कीर्ति और शत्रु पर विजय प्राप्त करने से जो ख्याति होती है उसे यश कहते हैं । इस सम्बन्ध में किसी कवि ने कहा है
दान-पुण्यकृता कीर्तिः पराक्रमकृतं यशः ।
एक दिग्गामिनी कीतिः सर्वविग्रगामकं यशः ॥
अब स्थावरदशक की दस प्रकृतियों का स्वरूप कहते हैं । उनके नाम क्रमश: इस प्रकार हैं

(1) The karma from whose rise the voice of the living being sounds pleasing to the listener, is called Suswar name karma; for example, the voice of a cuckoo etc.
(2) The karma from whose rise the speech of the living being becomes universally accepted, is called Aadey name karma.
(3) The karma from whose rise the fame and glory of the living being spreads in the world, is called Yash Kirti name karma.

If praise spreads in one direction, it is called Kirti, and if praise spreads in all directions, it is called Yash, or the fame that comes from charity, penance etc. is called Kirti, and the fame that comes from victory over the enemy is called Yash.
