अज्ञान,
अर्थ - औदयिकभावके जातिपद मिथ्यात्वगुणस्थानमें गति, कषाय, लिंग, लेश्या, मिथ्यात्व, असंयम और असिद्धत्वरूप ८ हैं, सासादन मिश्र असंयत इन तीनगुणस्थानों में मिथ्यात्वबिना सात आगे देशसंयतसे अनिवृत्तिकरणके सवेदभागपर्यन्त असंयमबिना शेष ६, अवेदभागसे सूक्ष्मसाम्परायगुणस्थानपर्यन्त वेदबिना शेष ५ आगे श्रीणकषायगुणस्थानपर्यन्त कषायबिना शेष ४ सयोगी गुणस्थानमें अज्ञानबिना शेष तीन और अयोगीगुणस्थान में लेश्याबिना दो हैं ।
अर्थ - पारिणामिकभावके जातिपद मिध्यात्वगुणस्थानमें जीवत्व और भव्यत्व अथवा जीवत्व और अभव्यत्वरूप दो ही हैं। शेष गुणस्थानोंमें जीवत्व भव्यत्वरूप एकही जातिपद है तथा आगे जातिपदकी अपेक्षा भंगोका समुदाय कहूँगा ।
मिच्छे परिणामपदा दोण्णि य सेसेसु होदि एक्कं तु । जातिपदं पडि वोच्छं मिच्छादिसु भंगपिंडं तु ॥ ८४८ ॥
विशेषार्थ औपशमिकभावके दो, क्षायिकभावके पाँच, क्षायोपशमिकभाव के सात, औदयिक भावके आठ और पारिणामिकभावके तीन जातिपद हैं। यहाँ यथासंभव औदयिकभावके जितने जातिपद पाए जाते हैं वे तो गुण्यरूप जानना । गुण्यराशिके गुणकार और क्षेप जानने के लिये प्रत्येक भंगादि करनेमें क्षायोपशमिकादि भावोंके जितने पद हों उतने भेद ग्रहण करना एवं औदयिकभावके जातिपदका समूहरूप एक ही भेद ग्रहण करना, इसप्रकार प्रत्येकभंगमें औदयिकभावका भेद तो गुणकाररूप जानना और अन्य भावोंके भेद क्षेपरूप जानना । द्विसंयोगी आदि भंगोंमें औदयिक भावका भेद और अन्य भावके
