King Lālātta bad a big (dirgha) Caitya constructed on the Ratnagiri Sahyādriņā samgata-simni) in the territory of Kunkuņa (Konkan), in the South. To mark that function, at the behest of the Teacher and to the joy of the residents of Kolhapur (Kolāpura), Jayasena alias Vasubindu wrote (samlikhitah) this within a couple of days. Thus the Pra. śasti indicates that the author Jayasena is associated with Kolhapur. The late Pt. Bahubali Sharma told me once that this Ratnagiri stands for the present-day Jotiba hül near Kolhapur. 11) Pratisthāpātha, Sholapur, 1925.
