किया । क्रमशः चलते हुए विजयार्ध पर्वतकी उपत्यकामे पहुँचे। यहाँ वे अपनी समस्त सेना ठहराकर निश्चिन्त हुए। पता चलनेपर विजयार्धदेव अपने समस्त परिकरके साथ इनके पास आया और उनका आज्ञाकारी हुआ विजयार्थको जीत लेनेसे इनकी दिग्विजयका अर्थभाग पूर्ण हो गया। अनन्तर उन्होंने उत्तरभारतमें प्रवेश करने के अभिप्रायसे दण्डर द्वारा विजयार्थ पर्वतके गुहाद्वार का उद्घाटन किया ।

द्वात्रिंशत्तम पर्व
गरमी शान्त होनेपर उन्होंने गुहाके मध्य में प्रवेश किया। काकिणी रत्नके द्वारा मार्गमें प्रकाश होता जाता था । बीचमें उन्मग्नजला तथा निमग्नजला नामकी नदियाँ मिलीं, उनके तटपर सेनाका विश्राम हुआ स्थपतिरत्नने अपने बुद्धि-बल से पुल तैयार किया जिससे समस्त सेना उस पार हुई गुहागर्भसे निकलकर सेनासहित भरत उत्तर भरतक्षेत्र में पहुँचे। चिलात और आवर्त नामके राजा बहुत कुपित हुए वे परस्पर में मिलकर चक्रवर्तीसे युद्ध करने के लिए उद्यत हुए । नाग जातिके देवोंकी सहायता से उन दोनोंने चक्रवर्तीकी सेनापर पनघोर वर्षा की जिससे ७ दिन तक चक्रवर्तीकी सेना चर्मरत्नके बीचमें नियन्त्रित रही । अनन्तर जयकुमारके आग्नेय वाणसे नाग जातिके देव भाग बड़े हुए और सब उपद्रव शान्त हुआ । चिलात और आवर्त दोनों ही म्लेच्छ राजा निरुपाय होकर शरण में आये । क्रमशः भरतने उत्तरभरत के समक्ष म्लेच्छ खण्डोंपर विजय प्राप्त की । ११२-१३०

कैलास से उतरकर अयोध्या नगरीकी ओर प्रस्थान | चक्ररत्न अयोध्या नगरीके द्वारपर आकर रुक गया, जिससे सबको आश्चर्य हुआ । चक्रवर्ती स्वयं सोच-विचार में पड़ गये निमित्तज्ञानी पुरोहितने बतलाया कि अभी आपके भाइयोंको वा करना बाकी है । पुरोहितकी सम्मति के अनुसार राजदूत भाइयोंके पास भेजे गये। उन्होंने भरतको आज्ञामें रहना स्वीकार नहीं किया और श्री ऋषभनाथ स्वामीके पास जाकर दीक्षा ले ली ।

पञ्चत्रिंशत्तम पर्व
सब भाई तो दीक्षित हो चुके, परन्तु बाहुबली राजदूतको बात सुनकर शुभित हो उठे। उन्होंने कहा कि जब पिताजीने सबको समान रूपसे राजपद दिया है, तब एक सम्राट् हो और दूसरा उसके अधीन रहे यह सम्भव नहीं । उन्होंने दूतको फटकारकर वापस कर दिया, अन्तमें दोनों ओरसे युद्ध की तैयारियाँ हुईं।

Thirty-sixth Chapter The army of Bharat advanced from this side for the war and the army of Bahubali advanced from that side. The wise strategists thought that in this brother-brother fight, the army would be destroyed in vain. Therefore, it would be good if these two brothers themselves fight. All of them together decided on three wars: Netrayuddha, Jalyuddha and Mallyuddha.
