________________ २३० आदिपुराणम् वस्मिल्लक्ष्मीसरस्वत्योरतिवा लभ्यमाभिते । ईयवेवामजत् कीर्तिदिगन्तान् विधुनिर्मला ॥३॥ नूनं तद्गुणसंख्यानं वेधसा संविधित्सुना । शलाका स्थापिता ब्योम्नि तारकानिकरच्छलात् ॥३५॥ तस्य तद्रपमाहार्य सा विद्या तब यौवनम् । जनानावर्जयन्ति स्म गुणैरावय॑ते न कः ॥३६॥ गुणैरस्यैव शेषाश्च कुमाराः कृतवर्णनाः । मनु चन्द्रगुणानः मजस्युडगणोऽप्ययम् ॥३७॥ ततोऽस्य योग्यतां मत्वा वनसेनमहाप्रमुः। राज्यलक्ष्मी समग्र स्वामस्मिन्नेव न्ययोजयत् ॥३०॥ नृपोऽभिषेकमस्योश्चैः स्वसमक्षमकारवत् । पट्टवन्धं च 'सामात्यैः नृपैर्मकुटवारिमिः ॥३९॥ नृपासनस्थमेनं च वीजयन्ति स्म चामरैः । गजातरासच्छावैः भकिमिललिताङ्गनाः ॥४०॥ धुन्वानाचामराज्यस्य ता ममोप्रेक्षते मनः । जनापवाद लक्ष्म्या रजोऽ पासितुमुद्यताः ॥४॥ वक्षसि प्रणयं लक्ष्मीढमस्याकरोत्तदा । पट्टबन्धापदेशन तस्मिन् प्राध्वंकृतेय सा ॥४२॥ "मकुटं मूनि तस्याधान् नृपैर्नृपवरः समम् । स्वं मारमवतार्यास्मिन् ससाक्षिकमिवार्पयत् ॥४३॥ हारेणालंकृतं वक्षो भुजावस्याङ्गदादिमिः" । "पटिकाकटिसूत्रेण कटी पट्टांशुकन च ॥४४॥ धर्म, अर्थ, काम इन तीनों पुरुषार्थोंको सिद्ध करनेवाली हैं, जो बड़े-बड़े फलोंको देनेवाली हैं और जो लक्ष्मीका आकर्षण करनेमें समर्थ हैं ऐसी मन्त्रसहित समस्त राजविद्याएँ उसने पढ़ ली थीं ॥३३।। उसपर लक्ष्मी और सरस्वती दोनों ही अतिशय प्रेम रखती थी इसलिए चन्द्रमाके समान निर्मल कोर्ति मानो उन दोनोंकी ईर्ष्यासे ही दशों दिशाओंके अन्त तक भाग गयी थीं ॥३४॥ मालूम होता है कि ब्रह्माने उसके गुणोंको संख्या करनेकी इच्छासे ही आकाशमें ताराओंके समूहके छलसे अनेक रेखाएँ बनायी थीं ॥३५।। उसका वह मनोहर रूप, वह विद्या और वह यौवन, सभी कुछ लोगोंको वशीभूत कर लेते थे, सो ठोक ही है। गुणोंसे कौन वशीभूत नहीं होता ? ॥३६॥ यहाँ जो वजनाभिके गुणोंका वर्णन किया है उसीसे अन्य राजकुमारोंका भी वर्णन समझ लेना चाहिए। क्योंकि जिस प्रकार तारागण कुछ अंशोंमें चन्द्रमाके गुणोंको धारण करते हैं उसी प्रकार वे शेष राजकुमार भी कुछ अंशोंमें वजनाभिके गुण धारण करते थे ॥ ३७॥ तदनन्तर, इसकी योग्यता जानकर वनसेन महाराजने अपनी सम्पूर्ण राज्यलक्ष्मी इसे ही सौंप दी ॥३८॥ राजाने अपने ही सामने बड़े ठाट-बाटसे इसका राज्याभिषेक कराया तथा मन्त्री और मुकुटबद्ध राजाओंके द्वारा उसका पट्टबन्ध कराया ॥३९॥ पट्टबन्धके समय वह राजसिंहासनपर बैठा हुआ था और अनेक सुन्दर स्त्रियाँ गंगा नदीके तरंगोंके समान निर्मल चमर ढोर रही थीं ॥४०॥ चमर ढोरती हुई उन स्त्रियोंको देखकर मेरा मन यही उत्प्रेक्षा करता है कि वे मानो राज्यलक्ष्मीके संसर्गसे वननाभिपर पड़नेवाली लोकापवादरूपी धूलिको ही दूर करनेके लिए उद्यत हुई हों ॥४१॥ उस समय राज्यलक्ष्मी भी उसके वक्षःस्थलपर गाढ़ प्रेम करती थी और ऐसी मालूम होती थी मानो पट्टबन्धके छलसे वह उसपर बाँध ही दी गयो हो ॥४२॥ राजाओंमें श्रेष्ठ वनसेन महाराजने अनेक राजाओंके साथ अपना मुकुट वचनाभिके मस्तकपर रखा था। उस समय वे ऐसे जान पड़ते थे मानो सवकी साक्षीपर्वक अपना भार ही उतारकर उसे समर्पण कर रहे हों ॥४३॥ उस समय उसका वक्षःस्थल हारसे अलंकृत हो रहा था, भुजाएँ बाजूबन्द आदि आभूषणोंसे सुशोभित हो रही थीं और १. वल्लभत्वम् । २. व्याजात् । ३. मनोहरम् । ४. नामयन्ति स्म । ५. नृपाभिषेक- अ०,५०, ब०, द० । ६. सप्रधानः। ७. समानः। ८. चामरग्राहिणीः। ९. अपसारणाय । १०, आनुकूल्यं कृता। 'आनुकूल्यार्थकं प्राध्वम्' इत्यभिधानात् । अथवा बद्धा प्राध्वमित्यव्ययः । ११. मुकुटं अ०, ५०, द०, स०, ल०,। १२.-मिवार्पयन ब०, द०, म०, ल०। १३.-वस्याङ्गदांशुभिः अ०, ५०, ब०, स०, द० । १४. काञ्चीविशेपेण ।
