________________ ૧૫ર. ભગવચ્છકરાચાર્ય ચરિત. आत्मावभासयत्येको बुद्ध्यादीनींद्रियाणि च / दीपो घटादिवत्स्वात्मा जडैस्तै वभास्यते // Spirits mako Buddhi and the organs of sense manifest, as a lamp illuminates a vase and other obj. ects, but the spirit which is svatma is not enlightened by inert matter.. જેમ દવે ઘડા વિગેરે પદાર્થોને પ્રકાશ કરે છે, પણ ઘડા વિગેરે મલિન પદાથે દીવાને પ્રકાશ કરી શક્તા નથી. તેમ આત્મા એક છે અને તે મન બુદ્ધિ વિગેરેને પ્રકાશિત કરે છે. પરંતુ મન બુદ્ધિ વિગેરે જડ છે તેથી તેઓ આત્માને પ્રકાશ કરી શકતાં નથી. શંકા–જ્યારે આત્મા બુદ્ધિ વિગેરેથી જાણી શકાતું નથી. ત્યારે તેને જાણવા સારૂ અન્ય જ્ઞાનીની જરૂર છે ખરી! स्वबोधे नान्यबोधेच्छा बोधरूपतयात्मनः। नदीपस्यान्यदीपेच्छा यथा स्वात्मा प्रकाशते // . . Tbe spirit whose special property is knowledge does not require knowledge about itself from any other Surce as a lamp shining with its own light does not require another lamp to make it visible. - ઉત્તર–જેમ દી સ્વયંપ્રકાશ હોવાથી તેને પ્રકાશ કરવાની બીજા દીવાની જરૂર નથી. તેમજ આત્મા જ્ઞાન સ્વરૂપ છે માટે તેના જ્ઞાનના માટે બીજા જ્ઞાનની જરૂર નથી. તે તે પિોતાની મેળેજ પ્રકાશે છે. શંકા–જ્યારે આત્મા બુદ્ધિ વિગેરેથી જણાતો નથી. ત્યારે તે શી રીતે જણાવ્યછે તે કહે. નિધ્ય નિવાધારનેતિ નેર્તિત વાવતઃ | विद्यादैन्यं महावाक्यजीवात्मपरमात्मनोः // If once the upadhi or attributes are put aside by saying " This is not " " this is not let the ident P.P.AC.
