सेनापति जैनधर्मी थे, जिन्होंने देश रक्षा के लिये प्राणों की भेंट देदी, परन्तु रणभूमि को नहीं छोड़ा। देवराय द्वि० जो ब्राह्मणों के कल्पवृक्ष कहे जाते थे, निश्चित रूप से जैनधर्म प्रेमी थे' । इन्होंने जिनेन्द्र भगवान की पूजा के लिए जैन मन्दिरों को गाँव भेंट किये। यही नहीं, बल्कि इन्होंने इस विश्वास से कि जिनेन्द्र भगवान का मन्दिर बनवाने से देश के यश और उन्नति को चार चाँद लगते हैं, इन्होंने विजयनगर में २३ वें तीर्थङ्कर श्री पार्श्वनाथ का मन्दिर बनवाया । कृष्णदेव (१५०६ - १५२६ ई०) ने भी तीन लोक के नाथ जिनेन्द्र भगवान का मन्दिर बनवाया था । विजयनगर के राजाओं के समय भी जैनधर्म सम्पूर्ण रूप में Protected Religion था ।

२१ - मैसूर के राजे जैनधर्म अनुरागी रहे हैं । जैन तीर्थ श्रवणबेलगोल को अपने रहन से छोड़ देना और यह पाबन्दी लगा देना कि 'आइन्दा यह पवित्र भूमि कभी बेची या रहन नहीं रखी जावेगी' वास्तव में महाराजा मैसूर श्री चामराज औडयर की जैनधर्म के लिये एक बड़ी सेवा है। जैनगुरु श्री विशालकस जी का महाराजा श्री चिक्कदेवराय औडयर पर बड़ा प्रभाव
