भगवान् महावीर को केवल ज्ञान तो ईस्वीय सन् से ५५७ वर्ष पहले वैशाख सुदी दशमी' को प्राप्त होगया, परन्तु उन की दिव्यध्वनि ६६२ दिन बाद खिरने के कारण उनका पहला धर्म उपदेश श्रावण कृष्णा प्रतिपदा को हुआ था । जिसकी वीर शासन जयन्ती आज तक मनाई जाती है ।
वीर-उपदेश

"जिस प्रकार वृक्षों के समूह को बन, सिपाहियों के समूह को फौज और स्त्री-पुरुषों के समूह को भीड़ कहते हैं, उसी प्रकार जीव और अजीव के समूह को संसार अथवा जगत ( universe)

४. Is there a Soul ? If so what is its proof?
