श्री वर्द्धमान अपने साथियों के साथ वन में क्रीड़ा कर रहे थे, इतने में वहां एक महाभयानक, विशालकाय सर्प निकला और उस बृक्ष से लिपट गया जिसके पास वह खेल रहे थे । उस विकराल रूप नागदेव को देख कर दूसरे राजकुमार भयभीत होकर भागने लगे, परन्तु राजकुमार वर्द्धमान के हृदय में जरा भी भय का संचार नहीं हुआ-वह बिलकुल निर्भयचित्त होकर उसके विशाल फने पर पाँव रख कर खड़े होगये और उस काले नाग से ही क्रीड़ा करने

Having ascertained the truthfulness, the God repended for big sinsul action. He bowed down before Vardhamana and said, “O Lord of the three worlds! You are able to shake Mount Meru and with it the entire earth with the touch of the toe of your foot, o Supreme Being!
