[૨૭] વધારવામાં લંપટ બને છે. તૃષ્ણાવાળાને જેમ જેમ લાભ થાય છે તેમ તેમ તેને લોભ વધ્યે જાય છે.
[ જે “કૃષ્ણ ] अरुद्घोपाधिविस्तारं परिग्रहचयोत्सुकम् । हिमामायादयो दोषा आश्लिष्यन्त्यधिकाधिकम् ।। ५३ ।।
53 Violence, deceit and other evils besiege more and more him who does not control his extent of possessions and who remains ardently desirous of accumulating acquisitions.
(૫૩) જે પિતાના ઉપાધિવિસ્તાર પર સમુચિત અંકુશ મૂકતે નથી, જે પરિગ્રહના સંચયમાં ઉત્સુક રહે છે તેને હિંસા, ધૂર્તતા વગેરે દેશે વધુ ને વધુ વળગતા રહે છે.
अहिंसा सार्वभौमी स्यात् संन्यासाध्वविहारिणाम् । सार्वभौमस्ततस्तेषां भवेदप्यपरिग्रहः ॥५४ ॥
54 The vow of non-violence is to be absolutely observed by those who lead the life of ascetics, and hence the vow of non-possession too is to be observed by them to the utmost.
(૫૪) સંન્યાસમાર્ગના પ્રવાસીઓની અહિંસા સાર્વ ભૌમ (વ્યાપક રૂપ ધરાવતી) હોય છે. અતવ તેમનું
