ભાવાર્થ-જ્યારે મહાન સિકંદર હિંદમાં આવ્યો ત્યારે હેણે ધણ નગ્ન જન સાધુએ જોયા. (ઉત્તર સરહદ પ્રાન્તમાં) અને હેમના જ્ઞાન તથા તપશ્ચર્યાની હેનામાં ઉંડી છાપ પડી. તહેણે છેવટે એકને તે ગ્રીસમાં પોતાની સાથે જવા સહમજાવ્યું. ગ્રીક લેખક તેઓ માટે લખે છે કે આ માણસે સંકટની જરીયે પરવા કર્યા વિના નગ્નજ ફરતા અને લોકોમાં તેમની મહેોટામાં મહેદી પ્રતિષ્ઠા હતી. આમંત્રણ મળે એટલે તેઓ બીજાને ત્યાં ન જતા. દરેક શ્રીમંત કુટુંબો હેમના માટે ખુલ્લાં હતાં–સ્ત્રીઓના ખાનગી એરડાઓ સુદ્ધાં.
