Kamta Prasad Jain has collected available material from the Jaina and non-jaina literature referring to Rājagraha, the ancient capital of Magadha and has given an interesting historical sketch of it. p.p. 84–89. Jainācārya Vijaya Indra Sūri has critically reviewed the Gujarāti publication entitled “Prācina Bhāratavarşa" by Dr. T. L. Shah (Baroda) and has pointed out a few of his deliberate misrepresentation of facts. It is wrong to say that the Gommața colossal at Sravanabelagola is the creation of the Mauryan emperors and Mahāvira, the last Tirthankara attained Nirvāņa from Vidišā (modern Bhilsa). p.p. 90-101. Pt. K. B. Shastri has written on the origin and history of the Jain Prākrata literature: the Apabhramśa variety of which is the source from which Hindi originated. p.p. 103—109. Why the Bāhubali colossal is called Gommața ? by H. Govind Pai. p.p. 110–118. B. Agarchand Nähațā has thrown light on the Jain texts dealing with astronomy and medicine. Lists of available mss. are given. p.p. 119–122. K. P. Jain has pointed out on substantial evidence that the word Śri-Samgha 'donot mean the Svetāmbaras only. The Digambaras has also used this word for their own community. Likewise Tapā and Kharatara Gacchhas, originally belonging to the Svetambara sect, are found also in the Kāpthāsamigha of the Shree Sudharmaswami Gyanbhandar-Umara, Surat www.umaragyanbhandar.com
