________________ life's ambition. If this translation bring peace to any Aryan brother in the midst of the world's distractions; if it remind him of the exploits of his illustrious ancestors; if in contemplating the Objective Self he is led, by it, to a study of the Subjective Self-finally, if an Aryan brother find my feeble attempt a means of comprehending the Parmanada (the Highest Happiness) Parmatma (the Highest Self) who is the superlative Sata (Essence), the Unborn, the Infinite, the Immortal, in the glance of whose eye is reflected the whole extent of the Universe--and (according to my original design) if the attempt give my countrymen, by contact, some insight into the experiences of the incomparable Arya-German, the Muni(Sage) Max-Müller, who has consecrated his whole life to the interpretation of the two principal phenomena of human history, namely, the Aryan Faith and the Aryan Speech, then I may well feel satisfied that I have reached my sacred goal.
