सूत्र-७३०
___ गुरु के चरण की भक्ति समूह से और उसकी प्रसन्नता से जिन्होंने आलावा को प्राप्त किए है ऐसे सुशिष्य एकाग्रमन से जिसमें अध्ययन करता हो उसे गच्छ कहते हैं।
सूत्र-७३१
ग्लान, नवदीक्षित, बालक आदि से युक्त गच्छ की दश तरह की विधिपूर्वक जिसमें गुरु की आज्ञा से वैयावच्च हो रही हो उसे गच्छ कहते हैं।
सूत्र - ७३२, ७३३
जिसमें दश तरह की सामाचारी खंडीत नहीं होती, जिसमें रहे भव्य सत्त्व के जीव का समुदाय सिद्धि पाता है, बोध पाता है वो गच्छ है।
१. इच्छाकार, २. मिच्छाकार, ३. तथाकार, ४. आवश्यिकी, ५. नैषेधिकी, ६. पृच्छा, ७. प्रतिपृच्छा, ८. छंदना, ९. निमंत्रणा, १०. उपसंपदा, यह दश तरह की समाचारी जिस समय करनी हो तब करे वो गच्छ हैं। सूत्र - ७३४
जिसमें छोटे साधु बड़ों का विनय करे, छोटे-बड़े का फर्क मालूम हो । एक दिन भी जो दीक्षा-पर्याय में बड़ा हो । उसकी अवगणना न हो वो गच्छ है। सूत्र - ७३५
चाहे कैसा भी भयानक अकाल हो, प्राण परित्याग करना पड़े वैसा अवसर प्राप्त हो तो भी सहसात्कारे हे गौतम ! साध्वीने वहोरकर लाई हुई चीज इस्तमाल न करे उसे गच्छ कहते हैं। सूत्र - ७३६
जिसके दाँत गिर गए हों वैसे बढ़े स्थविर भी साध्वी के साथ बात नहीं करते । स्त्री के अंग या उपांग का निरीक्षण जिसमें नहीं किया जाता उसे गच्छ कहते हैं।
सूत्र-७३७
जिस गच्छ में रूप सन्निधि-उपभोग के लिए स्थापित चीज रखी नहीं जाती, तैयार किए गए भोजनादिक, सामने लाकर आहारादि न ग्रहण करे और पूतिकर्म दोषवाले आहार से भयभीत, पातरा बार-बार धोने पड़ेंगे ऐसे भय से, दोष लगने के भय से, उपयोगवंत साधु जीसमें हो वो गच्छ है। सूत्र-७३८
जिसमें पाँच अंग जिस के काम प्रदिप्त करनेवाले हैं, दुर्जय जीवन खीला है, बड़ा अहंकार है ऐसे कामदेव से पीड़ित मुनि हो तो भी सामने तिलोत्तमा देवांगना आकर खड़ी रहे तो भी सामने नजर नहीं करता वो गच्छ। सूत्र - ७३९
काफी लब्धिवाले ऐसे शीलभ्रष्ट शिष्य को जिस गच्छ में गुरु विधि से वचन कहकर शिक्षा करे वो गच्छ । सूत्र - ७४०-७४१
नम्र होकर स्थिर स्वभाववाला हँसी और जल्द गति को छोड़कर, विकथा न करनेवाला, अघटित कार्य न करनेवाला, आँठ तरह की गोचरी की गवेषणा करे यानि वहोरने के लिए जाए । जिसमें मनिओं तरह के दुष्कर अभिग्रह, प्रायश्चित् आचरण करते देखकर देवेन्द्र के चित्त चमत्कार पाए वो गच्छ ।
