कुंथुआ के स्पर्श का या खुजली का दुःख यहाँ केवल उपलक्षण से बताया । संसार में सबको दुःख तो प्रत्यक्ष ही है। उसका अहसास होने के बावजूद भी कुछ प्राणी नहीं जानते इसलिए कहता हूँ। सूत्र - २७८-२७९
दूसरे लेकिन महाघोर दुःख सर्व संसारी जीव को होते हैं । हे गौतम ! वो कितने दुःख यहाँ बयान करना? जन्म-जन्मान्तर में केवल वाचा से इतना ही बोले कि, "हण लो-मारो'' उतने वचन मात्र का जो यहाँ फल और पापकर्म का उदय होता है वो कहता हूँ। सूत्र-२८०-२८३
जहाँ-जहाँ वो उत्पन्न होता है वहाँ-वहाँ कईं भव-वन में हमेशा मरनेवाला, पीटनेवाला, कूटनेवाला हमेशा भ्रमण करता है । जो किसी प्राणी के या कीड़े तितली आदि जीव के अंग उपांग आँख, कान, नासिका, कमर, हड्डियाँ आदि शरीर के अवयव को तोड़ दे, अगर तुड़वा दे या ऐसा करनेवाले को अच्छा माने तो वो किए कर्म के उदय से घाणी-चक्की या वैसे यंत्र में जैसे तल पीले जाए वैसे वो भी चक या वैसे यंत्र में पीला जाएगा । इस तरह एक, दो, तीन, बीस, तीस या सो, हजार, लाख नहीं लेकिन संख्याता भव तक दुःख की परम्परा प्राप्त करेगा। सूत्र - २८४-२८६
प्रमाद या अज्ञान से अगर इर्ष्या दोष से जो कोई असत्य वचन बोलता है, सामनेवाले को अच्छे न लगने वाले अनिष्ट वचन सूनाते हैं-कामदेव के अगर शठपन के अभिमान से दुराग्रह से बार-बार बोले, कहलाए या उसकी अनुमोदना करे, क्रोध से लालच से, भय से, हास्य से, असत्य, अप्रिय, अनिष्ट वचन बोले तो उस कर्म के उदय से गूंगा, बूरे मुँहवाला, मूरख, बिमार, निष्फल वचनवाला हर एक भव में अपनी ही ओर से लाघव-लघुपन, अच्छे व्यवहारवाला होने के बावजूद हर एक जगह बार-बार झूठे कलंक पानेवाला होता है। सूत्र-२८७
जीवनिकाय के हित के लिए यथार्थ वचन बोला गया हो वो वचन निर्दोष है और शायद-असत्य हो तो भी असत्य का दोष नहीं लगता। सूत्र - २८८
इस प्रकार चोरी आदि के फल जानना, खेत आदि आरम्भ के कर्म करके प्राप्त धन की इस भव में या पूर्व जन्म में किए पाप से हानि होती दिखती है।

उस प्रकार मैथुन के दोष से स्थावरपन भुगतकर कुछ अनन्तकाल मानव योनि में आए । मानवपन में भी कुछ लोगों की होजरी मंद होने से मुश्किल से आहार पाचन हो । शायद थोड़ा ज्यादा आहार भोजन करे तो पेट में दर्द होता है । या तो पल-पल प्यास लगे, शायद रास्ते में उनकी मौत हो जाए । बोलना बहुत चाहे इसलिए कोई पास में न बिठाए, सुख से किसी स्थान पर स्थिर न बैठ सके, मुश्किल से बैठे, स्थान मिले तो भी कला-विज्ञान रहित होने से कहीं आवकार न मिले, पाप उदयवाला वो बेचारा निद्रा भी न पा सके । सूत्र- २९२-२९३
इस प्रकार परिग्रह और आरम्भ के दोष से नरकायुष बाँधकर उत्कृष्ट तैंतीस सागरोपम के काल तक नारकी की तीव्र वेदना से पीड़ित है। चाहे कितना भी तृप्त हो उतना भोजन करने के बावजूद भी संतोष नहीं होता, मुसाफिर को जिस तरह शान्ति नहीं मिलती उसी तरह यह बेचारा भोजन करने के बाद भी तृप्त नहीं होता।
