आगम सूत्र ३९, छेदसूत्र-५, 'महानिशीथ'
अध्ययन/उद्देश/सूत्रांक हो । या फिर वो जिसमें से सुगंध नीकल रही है ऐसे काफी विमल-निर्मल गंधोदक से पवित्र क्षीरसागर में स्नान करके अशुचि से भरे खड्डे में गिरे उसकी तरह बार-बार गलती करनेवाला समझना । सारे कर्म का क्षय करनेवाले इस तरह की शायद देवयोग से सामग्री मिल भी जाए लेकिन अशुभ कर्म को ऊखेड़ना काफी मुश्किल मानना सूत्र-१४३६-१४३८
उस अनुसार प्रायश्चित्त करने के बाद कोई छ जीवनिकाय के व्रत, नियम, दर्शन, ज्ञान और चारित्र या शील के अंग का भंग करे, क्रोध से, मान से, माया से, लालच आदि कषाय के दोष से भय, कंदर्प या अभिमान से यह
और दूसरी वजह से गारव से या फिझूल आलम्बन लेकर जो व्रतादिक का खंडन करे । दोष का सेवन करे वो सर्वार्थ सिद्ध के विमान तक पहुँचकर अपनी आत्मा को नरक में पतन दिलाते हैं। सूत्र-१४३९
हे भगवंत ! क्या आत्मा को रक्षित रखे कि छ जीवनिकाय के संयम की रक्षा करे? हे गौतम ! जो कोई छ जीवनिकाय के संयम का रक्षण करनेवाला होता है वो अनन्त दुःख देनेवाला दुर्गति गमन अटकने से आत्मा की रक्षा करनेवाला होता है। इसलिए छ जीवनिकाय की रक्षा करना ही आत्मा की रक्षा माना जाता है । हे भगवंत ! वो जीव असंयम स्थान कितने बताए हैं? सूत्र - १४४०
हे गौतम ! असंयम स्थान काफी बताए हैं । जैसे कि पृथ्वीकाय आदि स्थावर जीव सम्बन्धी असंयम स्थान, हे भगवंत ! वो काय असंख्य स्थान कितने बताए हैं ? हे गौतम काय असंयम स्थानक कई तरह के प्ररूपे हुए हैं । वो इस प्रकार - सूत्र-१४४१-१४४३
पृथ्वी, पानी, अग्नि, वायु, वनस्पति और अलग-अलग तरह के त्रस जीव को हाथ से छूना यावज्जीवन पर्यन्त वर्जन करना, पृथ्वीकाय के जीव को ठंड़े, गर्म, खट्टे चीजों के साथ मिलाना, पृथ्वी खुदना, अग्नि, लोह, झाकल, खट्टे, चीकने तेलवाली चीजें पृथ्वीकाय आदि जीव का आपस में क्षय करनेवाले, वध करनेवाले शस्त्र समझना । स्नान करने में शरीर पर मिट्टी आदि पुरुषन करके स्नान करने में, मुँह धोकर शोभा बढ़ाने में हाथ, ऊंगली, नेत्र आदि का शौच करने में, पीने में कईं अप्काय के जीव क्षय होते हैं। सूत्र-१४४४-१४४५
अग्नि संघुकने में, जलाने में, उद्योत करने में, पवन खाने में, फूंकने में, संकोरने में, अग्निकाय के जीव का समुदाय क्षय होता है । यदि अग्नि अच्छी तरह से जल ऊठे तो दश दिशा में रही चीजों को खा जाती है । सूत्र - १४४६
वीजन, ताड़पत्र के पंखे, चामर ढ़ोलना, हाथ के ताल ठोकना, दौड़ना, कूदना, उल्लंघन करना, साँस लेना, रखना, इत्यादिक वजह से वायुकाय के जीव की विराधना-विनाश होता है। सूत्र-१४४७-१४४८
अंकुरण, बीज, कूपण, प्रवाल पुष्प, फूल, कंदल, पत्र आदि के वनस्पतिकाय के जीव हाथ के स्पर्श से नष्ट होते हैं । दो, तीन, चार, पाँच इन्द्रियवाले त्रसजीव अनुपयोग से और प्रमत्तरूप से चलते-चलते, आते-जाते, बैठतेउठते, सोते-जगते यकीनन क्षय हो तो मर जाते हैं। सूत्र - १४४९
प्राणातिपात की विरति मोक्षफल देनेवाली है । बुद्धिशाली ऐसी विरति को ग्रहण करके मरण समान आपत्ति आ जाए तो भी उसका खंडन नहीं करता।
