जो साधु स्त्री को देखकर मदनासक्त होकर स्त्री के साथ रतिक्रीड़ा करनेवाला होता है वो बोधिलाभ से भ्रष्ट होकर बेचारा कहाँ पैदा होगा । संयत साधु या साध्वी जो मैथुन सेवन करता है वो अबोधि लाभ कर्म उपार्जन करता है। उसके द्वारा अपकाय और अग्निकाय में पैदा होने के लायक कर्म बाँधता है। सूत्र - १०४४-१०४९
इस तीन में अपराध करनेवाला हे गौतम ! उन्मार्ग का व्यवहार करते थे और सर्वथा मार्ग का विनाश करनेवाला होता है । हे भगवंत ! इस दृष्टांत से जो गृहस्थ उत्कट मदवाले होते हैं । और रात या दिन में स्त्री का त्याग नहीं करते उसकी क्या गति होगी? वो अपने शरीर के अपने ही हस्त से छेदन करके तल जितने छोटे टुकड़े करके अग्नि में होम करे तो भी उनकी शुद्धि नहीं दिखती । वैसा भी यदि वो परस्त्री के पच्चक्खाण करे और श्रावक धर्म का पालन करे तो मध्यम गति प्राप्त करे । हे भगवंत ! यदि संतोष रखने में मध्यम गति हो तो फिर अपने शरीर का होम करनेवाला उसकी शुद्धि क्यों न पाए ? हे गौतम ! अपनी या पराई स्त्री हो या स्वपति या अन्य पुरुष हो उसके साथ रतिक्रीड़ा करनेवाला पाप बँध करनेवाला होता है। लेकिन वो बँधक नहीं होता। सूत्र - १०५०-१०५१
यदि किसी आत्मा कहा गया श्रावक धर्म पालन करता है और परस्त्री का जीवन पर्यन्त त्रिविध से त्याग करत हैं । उसके प्रभाव से वो मध्यम गति पाता है। यहाँ खास बात तो यह ध्यान में रखनी कि नियम रहित हो, परदारा गमन करनेवाला हो, उनको कर्मबंध होता है । और जो उसकी निवृत्ति करता है, पच्चक्खाण करता है, उन्हें महाफल की प्राप्ति होती है। सूत्र-१०५२-१०५३
पाप की हुई निवृत्ति को यदि कोई अल्प प्रमाण में भी विराधना करे, केवल मन से ही विराधना करे तो जिस तरह से मेघमाला नामकी आर्या मरके दुर्गति में गई उस प्रकार मन से अल्प भी व्रत की विराधना करनेवाला दुर्गति पाता है । हे भुवन के बँधव ! मन से भी अल्प प्रत्याख्यान का खंडन करके मेघमाला से जो कर्म उपार्जन किया और दुर्गति पाई, वो मैं नहीं जानता । सूत्र - १०५४
बारहवें वासुपूज्य तीर्थंकर भगवंत के तीर्थ में भोली काजल समान शरीर के काले वर्णवाली दुर्बल मनवाली मेघमाला नाम की एक साध्वी थी। सूत्र-१०५५-१०५८
भिक्षा ग्रहण करने के लिए बाहर नीकलकर दूसरी ओर एक सुन्दर मकान पर एक स्त्री बैठी थी । वो पास के दूसरे मकान से लंघन करके जाने की अभिलाषा करती थी। तब इस साध्वीने मन से उसे अभिनन्दन करके इतने में वो दोनों जल उठी, उस साध्वीने अपने नियम का सूक्ष्म भंग हुआ उनकी वहाँ नींदा नहीं की। उस नियम के भंग के दोष से जलकर पहले नरक में गई । इस प्रकार समझकर यदि तुमको अक्षय, अनन्त, अनुपम सुख की अभिलाषा हो तो अतिना के नियम या व्रत की विराधना मत होने देना । सूत्र- १०५९-१०६१
तप, संयम या व्रत के लिए नियम दंडनायक कोटवाल समान है । उस नियम को खंडित करनेवाले को व्रत या संयम नहीं रहते । मछवारा पूरे जन्म में मछलियाँ पकड़कर जो पाप बाँधता है उससे ज्यादा तो व्रत के भंग की ईच्छा रखनेवाले आँठ गुना पाप बाँधते हैं । अपने देश की शक्ति या लब्धि से दूसरों की उपशान्त करे और दीक्षा ले तो अपने व्रत को खंड़ित न करते हुए उतने पुण्य का उपार्जन करनेवाला होता है ।

Even if they renounce other women and observe the vows of a Shravaka, they will attain a middling state. O Bhagavan! If they attain a middling state by practicing moderation, then why should the one who offers his body in the fire not attain purity? O Gautama!
