( 2 ) Journal of the Indian History, Madras. Marwar-ka-Itihas written by Pandit Bisheshwar Nath Reu, the Superintendent, Archaeological Department, Jodhpur, is an authentic and detailed history of the Jodhpur State.
The author has taken great pains in exploiting different sources and consulting many books to get the material for his book. He has also brought out with success many new facts, which uptil now, lay hidden and has succeeded in dispelling a number of false ideas prevailing in regard to the Rathor rulers of Marwar among old and present scholars. The large number of footnotes added to this volume enhances the value of this scholarly work.
Beginning with a short sketch of the previous ruling dynasties of Marwar, this volume contains the history of the Rathor rulers of Marwar from about the beginning of the 13th century to the end of the 18th century A. D.
The work is scholarly and carefully compiled and will prove a valuable handbook to scholars.

Journal of the Bihar & Orissa Research Society, Patna. ............ In 1933 was published the History of Rashtrakutas (Rathodas) with its Hindi version in 1934 (by Mr. Reu). It brought the story up to the advent of Rao Sihaji in Marwar, following an account of the Rastrakutas in Gujerat and Kanauj. The present history continues the narrative from Rao Sihaji in Marwar to the present day - about 800 years of Rajput achievements and Rajput strivings, forming an illuminating background of the history of India.
The chronicles of Marwar are always a difficult theme. They stir a chord in every Indian heart reflecting romance in history. Great courage and even greater discipline are necessary to subject the glories of Marwar
