Verse 230
दृष्टार्थस्य न मे किमप्ययमिति ज्ञानावलेपादमुं नोपेक्षस्व जगत्रयैकडमरं निःशेषयाशाद्विषम् । पश्याम्भोनिधिमप्यगाधसलिलं बाबाध्यते वाडवः क्रोडीभूतविपक्षकस्य जगति प्रायेण शान्तिः कुतः ॥२३०॥
अर्थ – 'मैं पदार्थों के स्वरूप को जान चुका हूँ, इसलिये यह आशारूप शत्रु मेरा कुछ बिगाड़ नहीं सकता है', इस प्रकार ज्ञान के अभिमान से तू तीनों लोकों में अत्यधिक भय को उत्पन्न करने वाले उस आशारूप शत्रु की उपेक्षा न करके उसे निर्मूल नष्ट कर दे। देखो, अथाह जल से परिपूर्ण भी समुद्र को वाडवाग्नि (बड़वानल) अत्यधिक (बार-बार) बाधा पहुँचाती है। ठीक है- जिसकी गोद में (समीप में) शत्रु स्थित है उसे भला संसार में प्रायः शान्ति कहाँ से प्राप्त हो सकती है? अर्थात् नहीं प्राप्त हो सकती है।
'I know the nature of substances and the enemy in form of desires can do no harm to me.' Don't be so overbearing. Without undermining the enemy, in form of desires, that engenders excessive fear in the three worlds, destroy it down to the roots. See, the oceanic-fire causes excessive damage to the ocean, itself with unfathomable water. It is right; where can one attain peace when the enemy is sitting in one's lap?
