ઉપકારી છે, માટે તેનું પાલન કરવું એવી શાસ્રઆજ્ઞા છે. આ આજ્ઞાને અનુસરીને સત્શ્રાદ્ધ મુમુક્ષુ પુરુષ યથાશક્તિ અહિંસા-સત્યાદિ શીલના પાલનમાં તત્પર બને છે, અને જેમ બને તેમ પરભાવ-વિભાવના ત્યાગ કરી આત્મસ્વભાવમાં રહેવા પ્રયત્નશીલ અને છે. આમ તે શીલવાન' હાય છે.
અને આમ જે સશ્રાદ્ધ શીલવાન—સંચમી હેાય છે, તે પછી ચેગને અધિકારી બની ચેાગતત્પર હોય છે, આત્મસ્વભાવ સાથે યુજનરૂપ યોગને સાધવા પ્રવર્તે છે. અને તેમ યેાગતત્પર થતાં તેને દિવ્ય ચેાગીજ્ઞાનની પ્રાપ્તિથી અતીન્દ્રિય અર્થાંનું જ્ઞાન થાય છે, સાક્ષાત્કાર થાય છે.
શું? તે કે—
आगमेनानुमानेन योगाभ्यासरसेन च । त्रिधा प्रकल्पयन्प्रज्ञां लभते तत्रमुत्तमम् ॥ १०१ ॥ આગમથી અનુમાનથી, ચાગાભ્યાસ રસે ય; પ્રજ્ઞા ત્રિવિધે યાજતાં, ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વ લહે ય. ૧૦૧
અ:—ભગમથી, અનુમાનથી અને ચેાગાભ્યાસના રસથી,-એમ ત્રણ પ્રકારે પ્રજ્ઞાને પ્રકલ્પતાં–પ્રયેાજતાં ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વને પામે છે,
વિવેચન
મુનિ પત'જલિ કહે છે કે- ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વની પ્રાપ્તિ ત્રણ પ્રકારે પ્રજ્ઞાને પ્રયેાજતાં થાય છેઃ (૧) આગમથી, (૨) અનુમાનથી, અને (૩) યેાગાભ્યાસના રસથી.’ પ્રજ્ઞાનેબુદ્ધિને આગમમાં યાજવાથી, આપ્ત પુરુષના વચનમાં જોડવાથી ઉત્તમ ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વ તત્ત્વની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. અનુમાન એટલે લિંગ ઉપરથી લિંગીનુ પ્રાપ્તિ ત્રણ જ્ઞાન, તેમાં પણ પ્રજ્ઞાને પ્રયાજતાં ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. અને પ્રકારે ચેાગાભ્યાસ એટલે વિહિત અનુષ્ઠાનના અભ્યાસરસમાં પણ પ્રજ્ઞાને પ્રત્યેાજિત કરતાં ઉત્તમ તત્ત્વની પ્રાપ્તિ થાય છે. આમ ત્રણ પ્રકારે આગમથી, અનુમાનથી અને યેાગાભ્યાસરસથી,-એ ઉક્ત અનુક્રમે જ પ્રજ્ઞાને પ્રયાજતાં

And so, the devout and virtuous seeker, who is also restrained, becomes eligible for the path of liberation and becomes dedicated to it. They strive to achieve the union of their true nature with the divine. As they become dedicated to this path, they attain divine knowledge through the grace of the liberated ones, and gain knowledge of the transcendental realms.
