(284) ગદરિસમુચ્ચય દષ્ટિ પુરુષને, પૂર્વકમથી કદાચ ત્યાગ ન કરી શકાય તે પણ, સ્ત્રી આદિ અપાયહેતુ પ્રત્યે અંતરાત્માથી સદાય અપ્રવૃત્તિબુદ્ધિ જ હોય તે તે પદાર્થ પ્રત્યે તે કદી પણ આત્મભાવે પ્રવતે નહિ જ. કારણ કે “સંસાર સ્પષ્ટ પ્રીતિથી કરવાની ઇચ્છા થતી હોય, તે તે પુરુષે જ્ઞાનીનાં વચન સાંભળ્યા નથી, અથવા જ્ઞાની પુરુષના દર્શન પણ તેણે ક્ય નથી, એમ તીર્થકર કહે છે. જ્ઞાની પુરુષને જોયા પછી સ્ત્રીને જોઈ જે રાગ ઉત્પન થતો હોય તે જ્ઞાની પુરુષને જોયા નથી, એમ તમે જાણે. જ્ઞાની પુરુષનાં વચનને સાંભળ્યા પછી સ્ત્રીનું સજીવન શરીર અજીવનપણે ભાસ્યા વિના રહે નહીં. ખરેખર પૃથ્વીને વિકાર ધનાદિ સંપત્તિ ભાસ્યા વિના રહે નહીં. જ્ઞાની પુરુષ સિવાય તેને આત્મા બીજે કયાંય ક્ષણવાર સ્થાયી થવાને વિષે છે નહીં.” (વિશેષ માટે જુઓ) શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્ર, પત્રાંક 371. (454) અત્રે સ્ત્રીનું મુખ્યપણું કહ્યું, તેનું કારણ એ છે કે ભલભલા મોટા વિચારશીલ જીવને પણ સ્ત્રી એ મોટામાં મોટા પ્રતિબંધનું કારણ થઈ પડે છે. દુર્ભય કામચાંડાલ પંડિતેને પણ પડે છે. “સ્ત્રી વગેરે મોટા ફાંસાથી ખૂબ જકડાયેલા સંસારી મુસાફરે “ભવ' નામના મોટા અંધારા કૂવામાં પડે છે.” માટે મુખ્ય એ આ સ્ત્રી–પ્રતિબંધ ટળતાં, બીજા પ્રતિબંધ પણ સહેજે તૂટવાનો અવકાશ મળે છે. * “આ સઘળા સંસારની, રમણી નાયકરૂપ; એ ત્યાગી ત્યાગું બધું, કેવળ શોક સ્વરૂપ. એક વિષયને જીતતાં, છતિએ સૌ સંસાર; નૃપતિ જીતતાં છતિએ, દળ પુર ને અધિકાર.” –શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્રજી પ્રણીત શ્રી મોક્ષમાળા. જીવને આ જગતમાં જે મોટામાં મોટું અપાયનું-આત્મહાનિનું કોઈ કારણ હેય, કલ્યાણનું મોટામાં મોટું પ્રતિબંધક કઈ પણ કારણ હોય, તે તે સ્ત્રી જ છે. એટલા માટે જ જ્ઞાની પુરુષોએ આ સ્ત્રીની નિંદા કરવામાં કાંઈ બાકી રાખી નથી. નારી નિંદા જેમ કે-વાણીમાં * જે અમૃત અને હૃદયમાં હાલાહલ વિષ ધારે છે એવી આ નિસર્ગ–કુટિલ સ્ત્રી કેણે નિર્માણ કરી છે તે અમે જાણતા નથી ! * “નિચ: જામવાળ્યા: વંદિતાન વચેત દિ નાળામરાસ્ત્રાર્થોધોધ મન્ - શ્રી અધ્યાત્મસાર, "अङ्गनादिमहापाशैरतिगाढं नियंत्रिताः / पतत्यंधमहाकूपे भवाख्ये भविनोऽध्वगाः // " –શ્રી શુભચંદ્રાચાર્યજી પ્રણીત શ્રી જ્ઞાનાર્ણવ, *"धारयन्त्यमृतं वाचि हृदि हालाहलं विषम् / निसर्गकुटिला नार्यो न विद्मः केन निर्मिताः॥ वनज्वलनलेखेव भोगिदंष्ट्रेव केवलम् / वनितेयं मनुष्याणां संतापभयदायिनी।"
