આઠ યોગદષ્ટિનું સામાન્ય કથનઃ દિવ્ય નયન (91) આત્મબ્રાંતિ સમ રેગ નહિં, સદ્ગુરુ વૈદ્ય સુજાણ; ગુરુ આજ્ઞા સમ પથ્ય નહિં, ઔષધ વિચાર ધ્યાન.” –શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્રજીપ્રણીત શ્રી આત્મસિદ્ધિ “अज्ञानतिमिरान्धानां ज्ञानांजनशलाकया / नेत्रमुन्मीलितं येन तस्मै सद्गुरवे नमः // " પ્રવચન અંજન જે સદ્ગુરુ કરે, દેખે પરમ નિધાન; હૃદય નયન નિહાળે જગધણી, મહિમા મેરુ સમાન.”—શ્રી આનંદઘનજી અeો સશાસ્ત્રની શ્રદ્ધા કહી છે, તેમાં તે શાસ્ત્રના મૂળ પ્રણેતા આસ પુરુષની, તેમજ તે શાસ્ત્રનો આશય સમજાવનારા સદ્દગુરુની શ્રદ્ધા પણ ગર્ભિતપણે સમાઈ જાય છે. કારણ કે જાગતી જોત જેવા સદ્ગુરુ વિના તે શાસ્ત્ર સમજાવશે કેણ? શાસ્ત્ર કાંઈ આપ્તની-સદ એની મેળે સમજાઈ જતું નથી ! તે તે જેને જ્ઞાનદષ્ટિ ઊઘડી છે એવા ગુરુની શ્રદ્ધા પ્રગટ ગીસ્વરૂપ જ્ઞાની સદ્ગુરુમુખેથી સમજવામાં આવે, તે જ સમજાય; તેવા ગુરુગમ વિના તે આગમ તે અગમ થઈ પડે છે! કારણ કે “બિના નયનકી બાત”, “બિના નયન’–સદ્ગુરુની દોરવણી વિના સમજાય નહિ; ને તે “દિવ્ય નયન” તે સદ્દગુરુના ચરણ સેવે તે સાક્ષાત્ ખૂલે. “બિના નયન પાવે નહિ, બિના નયનકી બાત; સેવે સરુકે ચરન, સો પાવે સાક્ષાત. બૂઝી ચહત જે પ્યાસકી, હૈ બૂઝની રીત; પાવે નહિં ગુરુગમ બિના, યેહી અનાદિ સ્થિત.”–શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્રજી ચરમ નયન કરી મારગ દેવ રે, ભૂલ્યો સયલ સંસાર જિણે નયણે કરી મારગ જઈએ રે, નયન તે દિવ્ય વિચાર. પંથડે નિહાળું રે.”—શ્રી આનંદઘનજી આમ અત્રે શાસ્ત્રકાર ભગવતે અર્થપત્તિન્યાયથી બંધ કર્યો કે–આ ગદષ્ટિમાં પ્રવેશ કરવાનું પ્રથમ દ્વાર સશાસ્ત્રની શ્રદ્ધા છે. શાસ્ત્ર એટલે આપ્તપુરુષનું વચન. તેની આજ્ઞાને શ્રદ્ધાથી અનુસરવું એ જ યેગમાર્ગનું પ્રથમ પગથિયું છે, તે જ “દૃષ્ટિ” ખૂલશે, નહિં તે અંધપણું જ છે, માટે જીવે સ્વછંદરૂપ અસતુશ્રદ્ધાને ત્યાગ કરી, પિતાની સ્વછંદ મતિકલ્પના છોડી દઈ, સત્શાસ્ત્રને–સપુરુષ સદ્ગુરુની આજ્ઞાને પ્રધાનપણે અનુસરી, સતશ્રદ્ધાથી આ યોગમાર્ગની આરાધના કરવી, એમ ઉપદેશને ધ્વનિ છે. રેકે જીવ સ્વછંદ તે, પામે અવશ્ય મોક્ષ; પામ્યા એમ અનંત છે, ભાખ્યું જિન નિર્દોષ.”– શ્રીમદ્ રાજચંદ્રજીકૃત શ્રીઆત્મસિદ્ધિ
